Fast Times (and lines) at Whitewater Amphitheater

Recently, Pollstar released a list of the top fifty outdoor venues in the U.S., and the Whitewater Amphitheater in New Braunfels, Texas, charted at number thirty six. Having musical guests such as Girl Talk, Ghostland Observatory, and Bob Dylan, Whitewater helps add to this mecca for outdoor tubing and camping by bringing live outdoor entertainment to the area. ThunderTix staff had the privilege of seeing the venue in action over a couple sold out shows as they moved five thousand excited fans through the gates with hassle free efficiency, leaving our team glowing with pride.

Whitewater's management asked us for help in expediting the process of ticketing at the gate. To help facilitate entrance, we suggested that their staff move through any forming lines reviewing tickets for VIP, Skybox or Preferred seating. These patrons are issued a wristband allowing entrance into designated areas, and pre-banding helps the lines move more swiftly when they arrive at the gates for barcode scanning. Pre-banding is also a great method to employ when issuing wristbands for over-21 alcohol consumption. As a note, we cautioned them to mark each ticket for which a band was issued to prevent re-use of a previously pre-banded ticket.

ThunderTix also added a new feature allowing Whitewater staff to scan all ticket types from a single gate reducing frustration when a patron found themselves in the “wrong” line. Once their print-at-home ticket was scanned, patrons were instantly free to roam around to different bar areas and the stage. Fast lines translate to happy customers and provide venues with more opportunities for up-sales of concert t-shirts, food and beverages before the show begins.

Whitewater's most recent show features Austin's own new wave electronic band, Ghostland Observatory, received by thunderous crowds over a two day performance including a sold-out Saturday night. Teens and adults of all ages were raving with glow sticks and jumping to the beat of GH's electrifying light show.
