If you need an event ticketing software that uses Square payment processing, your search has ended. The Square payment gateway for event ticket sales supports box office ticket sales, online sales directly to your patrons, and ticket sales through our free iOS and Android apps.
Sell tickets with the Square Terminal connected to ThunderTix. In ThunderTix, you'll choose your event, choose a performance, select tickets (and/or seats). When you get to the checkout page, you'll choose the Square Terminal as the payment method. Your patron inserts or taps their credit card and voila! The payment is processed in ThunderTix and tickets are generated.
Connect one or more Terminals to your ThunderTix administrative portal for walk-ups at the box office and for selling concessions or merchandise. Your customers can quickly pay for tickets by inserting their credit card to read the chip or simply tapping their card. In addition, the Square terminal supports both Apple Pay and Google Pay for customers to pay for tickets using their smartphone.
How do sell tickets online using Square with ThunderTix? First, sign up for a Square account. Square normally approves organizations within 24-48 hours, so you can often start selling tickets with Square the same day.
Step 1
Once your organization has been approved to sell tickets with Square, follow the instructions for connecting your Square account to ThunderTix.
Log in to ThunderTix, then navigate to the Account Settings drop-down in the upper right-hand corner as indicated by the cog icon. Click the icon to reveal a drop-down menu, then click the Gateway tab.

Next, click the "Connect with Square" button.
You'll be taken to a Square login page. Enter your Square email address and password and click Sign in. You may need to confirm you are not a robot first. Square will send you a verification code to confirm your identity. Enter the code and click Verify.
Step 3
You'll be redirected to a screen that says, "ThunderTix wants access to your Square Account". Click to Allow ThunderTix access.
After you are redirected back to your Gateway page in ThunderTix, confirm the currency selected is correct. Options include USD, CAD, AUD, EUR, and GBP.
Three pieces of information -- access token, application ID, and location ID -- should all be automatically synced from Square into ThunderTix.
Click "Add Gateway" to save your changes.
That's it! Begin event ticket sales with ThunderTix using Square for credit card processing. Process all payments immediately, and all revenues transfer directly to your bank via Square the same day sales are made. (Please check your agreement with Square for details.)
Since ThunderTix never has access to your ticket sales revenue, 100% of all proceeds are immediately transferred to your preferred checking account through Square.
