Handheld Wifi Setup
Setting up Internet Access for the Motorola MC 3090
- Turn on the Hand Held by holding down the red circular button in the bottom right corner of your device.
- Using the stylus attached to the strap on the back of the device, click blue/red icon next to battery on the bottom right side if the task bar until menu opens.
- Click "Find WLANs". The WLAN is the wireless router used in your office.
- Double-Click the correct LAN connection to your location.
- A pop-up appears. Click "Connect" to view another window labeled "Profile Entry".
- The name of your wireless network will appear in the Profile ID for both Name and ESSID. Click Next.
- Under Operating Mode, Select "Infrastucture" in the drop-down. It should say "Allow Any Country". Click Next.
- Authentication should remain as: "None"
- Select the encryption of your wireless network. Typcially, this is set as "128-Bit WEP". Key Index should be "1". If you have a 26 character key, do not select the "Use Passkey" checkbox. Click Next.
- You will see 6 text boxes with asterisks (****) inside each box. For users with a 26 character key, begin entering the 26 character key into each box. The cursor will move into the next box as you continue typing. Click Next when complete.
- Select the appropriate option ("Static" or "DHCP" for dynamically changing IP addresses) for your Wireless IP address. Click Next.
- If you selected "DHCP", skip to the next step. If you selected Static, enter the IP address of the wireless connection and the Subnet Mask. Click Next.
- Transmit Power should be set to "Automatic". Click Next.
- Battery Usage needs to be set to "CAM" for the strongest wireless Internet connection capabilities.
- Click Finish.
- Close the Manage Profiles window by clicking the "X" in the upper right corner.
- You are now ready to scan tickets using your Motorola MC 3090.
